Outside Sales Representative
Brainard, MN region

Company is a leading provider of commercial and residential roofing, siding, windows, decking, specialty lumber, waterproofing, ad air barrier systems to the North American building industry. Leveraging a network of trusted regional construction suppliers, we have supported contractors who rely on us to run their businesses for nearly 100 years. Due to continued growth we are currently accepting applications for Outside Sales Representative within 50 miles of the Brainard, MN region. Position is combination of remote and in-office.

Compensation

Average annual salary $100,000 per year, which includes:

  • Base salary $50,000-$55,000 per year, negotiable based on experience
  • Commission based on current revenue. Unlimited growth potential.

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, no weekends.
  • Business hours 7am-4/5pm, work until work is completed.
  • Territory from Hudson, WI to west of Fargo, ND.
  • On the road 75% of the time (approximately 1000-1500 driving miles per week), home office work 25%.
  • Some overnights may be required but schedule is typically in control of employee.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule based on customer availability/needs.

Responsibilities

  • Sell exterior building products including roofing, siding, windows, and waterproofing materials across assigned territory to wholesale lumber yards.
  • Meet expectation of $1MM increased revenue every 12 months.
  • Maintain and build relationships with current customer base; identify new customer prospects through cold calls, internal leads, etc.
  • Drive profitable growth an achieve sales and margin budgets.
  • Prospect an identify new opportunities and customers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customer base and vendors.
  • Partner with branch operations to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
  • Administrative duties using SalesForce.
  • Continue to develop sales skills and expand product knowledge.
  • Travel extensively within assigned market.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills; proven experience in a sales or related leadership role.
  • Proven sales ability and experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with building materials a plus but not required.
  • Spanish bilingual proficiency a plus but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Self-motivated, drive to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, organization skills, and attention to detail.
  • Technology based administrative work experience, preferably using Salesforce applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Be in excellent physical condition and be able to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods and have normal use of senses.
  • Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors.
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S..
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English.
  • Be able to lift, push, pull 75 pounds with no assistance.
