Due to continued growth we are seeking Diesel Mechanics within 45 miles of Westborough, MA.

Compensation

Average Annual Salary $52,000-$72,000 per year, which includes:

  • Hourly pay $24.00-$30.00/hour, may be negotiable based on experience
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours per week
  • Typical work week is 40-45 hours
  • End of year Bonus- $500.00 based on performance
  • Weekly paychecks

Work Schedule

  • 4 day work week; two schedules to choose from:
    • Sunday-Wednesday; 1 opening: 2:00pm -12:30am, 1 opening: 9:00 PM- 7:30 AM (shift differential for work completed 5:30pm-6:00am).
    • Wednesday-Saturday; 1 opening: 2:00pm -12:30am, 1 opening: 9:00 PM- 7:30 AM (shift differential for work completed 5:30pm-6:00am).
  • Holidays worked on a rotation basis, swapped for time-off on alternate days
  • Training hours will be 7:00 AM- 5:30 PM on candidate’s schedule of choice
  • Work schedule may change based on business needs; must be flexible with work schedule

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventative and as-needed maintenance of semi trailers
  • Interpret and follow work orders and technical manuals
  • Maintain schedules and document completed preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance; ensure work meets manufacturer’s specifications according to FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations)
  • Maintaining parts and yard organization (with direction from operations management) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Diesel Mechanic and/or Heavy machinery repair
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working on air brakes
  • Experience managing preventative maintenance program on diesel engines, semi trailers, and/or heavy machinery
  • DOT medical card required or must be willing to obtain upon hire
  • Knowledge of air, electronic, braking, and suspension systems as well as general mechanical operation and/or light body repair
  • Familiar with FHWA (Federal Highway Administration), and FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations), BIT (Basic Inspection of Terminals) inspections
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds (mainly, tires)
  • Having own tools is a plus but not required
  • Must have a valid and current US driver’s license; no CDL required
