Nationwide trucking company is hiring local CDL A drivers within 60 miles of Shelbyville, IN to service one of its nationwide retail accounts. Become a dedicated driver and start enjoying consistent freight and job security making deliveries for a single customer.

Compensation

Average annual salary $65,000-$70,000 per year which includes:

• Activity based pay (mileage, stops, unload, breakdown, detention)
• Typical work 10-14 hours per day
• Paid Training for 1-3 days, or more as needed
• $1,000 sign-on Bonus: $500 paid after 1st load, $500 paid after 30 days

Work Schedule

• Work 5 days per week with 2 consecutive days off per week.
• Some weekends and some Holidays included
• Start times vary, typically between 9:00 pm-4:00 am, depending on route
• Make 2-5 stop per day, driver unload using pallet jack and/or hand cart
• Deliver dry and refrigerated groceries to Kroger stores in OH, IN & IL

Responsibilities

• Route delivery, driver unload using pallet jack and/or 2-wheel hand cart
• Touch freight, pallet and/or case delivery into warehouse and/or store coolers, freezers, etc.
• Drive CDL A day cabs with 53′ trailers to transport materials and equipment to specific route destinations
• Secure pallets using straps. Strap and unstrap at each delivery.
• Document pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Manage hours of service (HOS) and ensure DOT compliance
• Use of keys, alarm codes, tablets, etc. for overnight deliveries
• Provide excellent customer service
• Checking mechanical aspects of the vehicle
• Reporting maintenance/repair issues on tractors and trailers

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have 3 months of verifiable CDL A tractor-trailer experience
• No restrictions acceptable
• Prior local route delivery touch freight, route delivery experience highly preferred
• Current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug and criminal background screen
• Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver´s License, with air brakes endorsement and you must be able to drive a manual transmission
• Familiar with Samsara systems a plus but will train
• Be in excellent physical condition and be able to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods and have normal use of senses
• Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English
• Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical
• Be able to lift, push, pull 65 pounds with no assistance
