Company has been in business for more than 100 years and grown to become the largest independent family-owned and operated broadline food service distributor in West Virginia – serving the Mountain State, Virginia, and border markets in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Company has stock over 9,000 products (and have access to thousands more) including fresh seafood, produce, dairy items, and a growing line of non-foods products including paper, chemicals, and more. Due to continued growth we are searching for Lead Local Truck Driver CDL A Route Delivery within 45 miles of Harrisburg, PA.

Compensation

• Average Annual Salary $85,000-$90,000 per year, which includes:
  • Activity based pay (miles, stops, unloading, etc.)
  • Per diem and case delivery incentives
  • Typical work week is 50-55 hours per week
  • Bi-weekly paychecks

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday; some weekends as needed
  
• Start times vary, typically between 4am-5am
• Deliver food products using ramp and 2-wheel hand cart.
• Position is local with the possibility of an occasional overnight.
• Layovers include $45 per diem and company paid stay in hotel
• Must be flexible with work schedule

Responsibilities

• Main daily duties are as a local, multi-stop, route delivery driver.
• Touch freight deliveries using a 2 wheel hand cart and ramp.
• Additional tasks as needed including training, leading, and mentoring new drivers.
• Drive CDL trucks to transport materials and equipment to specific route destinations
• Provide excellent customer service
• Checking mechanical aspects of the vehicle
• Reporting maintenance/repair issues on tractors and trailers

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of CDL A tractor-trailer experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
• Current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug and criminal background screen
• Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver´s License, with air brakes endorsement.
• Must have knowledge of and be comfortable with using Microsoft office programs (email, spreadsheets, documents, etc.).
• Experience delivering to foodservice warehouses preferred but not required
• Be in excellent physical condition and be able to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods and have normal use of senses
• Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical
• Be able to lift, push, pull 65 pounds with no assistance
